Uganda has the youngest population in the world, with 77% of its population under 25 years of age.
Ugandans love a good party and that coupled with warm hospitality of Ugandans and high level of security, Uganda has become a famous entertainment destination in the region.
Cub’s picks are well thought out and researched options of not only good locations for entertainment all over Uganda such as bars, restaurants, kafundas, parks, secret getaways, road trips as well as major events like roast and rhyme, blankets and wine, music and cultural festivals like Nyege Nyege
Kampala City
Experiencing Kampala during the day and at night are two very different experiences.
During the day is when it is advisable to visit all the culturally and historical sites in all of their beauty but at night Kampala transforms into a partying hub and just like any other thing in Kampala the nightlife has lots of different things to offer to accommodate client’s tastes and preferences.
There places where one can simply sit and enjoy a drink or two like Rugby Club, bars which have a laid back feel with good music like Panamera, sports bars for sports fans to watch matches accompanied by a cold beverage
like Arena Sports Bar and Grill, and a number of high end bars like the Alchemist for a more intimate setting but if you what more high energy partying that can go till morning there a number of posh clubs like Illusions where you can party the whole night away. All in all there is something for everyone.
Jinja City
Jinja is mostly known for being home to the source of the Nile but it was also Uganda’s first Industrial centre and this can be seen with as factories are still present.
The combination of tourism and industrialisation in Jinja has made it a major business market which has birthed the huge party and entertainment culture as the district is filled with numerous entertainment centres like, bars, clubs, hotels and restaurants.
Jinja is home to the biggest music festival Nyege Nyeyege which brings together people from all over the world to party for a whole week. Safe to say that Jinja is not just a destination but a whole different type of experience.
Mukono
Jinja is mostly known for being home to the source of the Nile but it was also Uganda’s first Industrial centre and this can be seen with as factories are still present.
Mukono has more homely feel which can be experienced some of its many beaches but if someone wants a more intimate setting there also a number of private beaches for privacy.
As Mukono neighbours Lake Victoria water sports like tubing, jet skiing have become popular activities which has gone hand in hand in the development of adventure parks in Mukono making sure adventure seekers are catered for.
Mukono is also rather cheaper than Kampala so tourists can party the whole night in Mukono on a decent as drinks and food in bars, kiosks and restaurants are relatively cheap. Since Mukono is just 27 km from Kampala one can go for day of entertainment and return before late.
Fort Portal
Fort Portal is known as the ‘Tourist City of Uganda’ simply because the city rather effortlessly makes tourists feel at home from the abundance of features like hills and crater lakes that create beautiful scenery to the clean and secure city streets which encourage walks and socialising.
However without a doubt the city’s greatest charm is its people that are simply some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet, you can see this when you ask a local for directions.
The locals are also known to buy a stranger a drink in the bar, this hospitality has created the famous night life in the district with a number of bars in the region with some meeting international standards. Fort Portal’s night life can rival any place in Uganda
